town is located on the A600, midway between Hitchin in Hertfordshire and Bedford.
It also straddles the A507, being a major east/west route between the M1 and the
A1(M).
The main A507 road, which is joined by Ivel Road, links through via Henlow to Junction
10 of the A1. In the opposite direction the road joins the A6 to Luton, its airport
and the M1. There is easy access to main line railway stations at Arlesey (10 minutes
drive), Hitchin (20 minutes drive) and Flitwick (20 minutes drive), providing excellent
commuter services into London.
The attractive centres of Hitchin and Letchworth Garden City are approximately six
miles away - there are excellent bus services to both – while the major centre of
Bedford, with its fast growing business shopping centres and wealth of leisure and
entertainment facilities, is some nine miles away to the north-west along the A600.
In addition, the Milton Keynes and Stevenage are within half an hour’s journey time.
Education in the town of Shefford is well served by Shefford Lower School, the Robert
Bloomfield Middle School and the Samuel Whitbread Community College. All are within
walking distance of the development.
Shefford has a thriving shopping centre, a good selection of pubs and restaurants.
The town features a large modern Health Centre and Library as well as a range of
sporting facilities. In addition a well-known business is the B&T micro brewery,
which produces specialist ales. The town holds a weekly street market every Friday
and a street fair in October.
Within easy access of Shefford a large selection of attractive villages in both
